At the beginning of summer and autumn flight season, news of victory about the international flight route business of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport came. On March 28 and March 30, Shenzhen Airlines respectively opened the international flight routes "Xi'an - Kuala Lumpur" and "Xi'an - Bangkok". To celebrate the successful opening of the two international routes, at 4:00 p.m. on March 28, Shenzhen Airlines and Xianyang Airport jointly held the maiden flight ceremony for international flight routes "Xi'an - Kuala Lumpur" and "Xi'an - Bangkok". Vice governor of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Jing Junhai, deputy director general of Northwest Civil Aviation Administration, Chai Duoshan, president of West Airport Group, Zeng Shunfu and other leaders were specially invited to attend and cut the ribbon at the maiden flight ceremony. Leaders and staff of Shenzhen Airlines, Xianyang Airport and other units concerned jointly witnessed the joyous occasion.
It is reported that since this year, with substantial support of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government and efforts of the forceful guidance of West Airport Group, Xianyang Airport has received actively response of Shenzhen Airlines during the process of looking for partners in opening international air routes from Xi'an to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur and eventually led to the successful opening of the two international air routes and got the important result of enhancing strategic cooperation of West Airport Group, Xianyang Airport and Shenzhen Airlines. Meanwhile, this is of positive significance for promoting the hub airport construction of Xianyang Airport, enriching international air route network, activating the aviation market in Xi'an, stimulating growth of tourism in Shaanxi Province and enhancing the awareness of the province.
At the maiden flight ceremony, the party secretary and acting president of Shenzhen Airlines, Mr. Fan Cheng introduced recent operation and development situation of Shenzhen Airlines and indicated that in the future the Company would continue to increase the transporting capacity and air route opening inputs in Shaanxi Province and promote the economic development of Northwest Territories. The General Manager of Xianyang Airport Co., Ltd., Zhang Wenge said in his speech that Shenzhen Airlines is an important base company and partner of Xianyang Airport. Since its marching into the airport, market share of the Company in market of Xi'an was quickly upgraded through transporting capacity inputs and expansion of air routes. Xianyang Airport will, as always, continue to provide Shenzhen Airlines with safer, more convenient and superior service and personalized operating environment and enhance cooperation between both parties. The deputy director general of Northwest Civil Aviation Administration, Chai Duoshan indicated in his speech that he wished that Shenzhen Airlines could build the two international air routes to be elaborate air and branded routes and thereby play an active role in promoting Shaanxi Province's opening up and construction of international city and airport. Moreover, he wished that all units of Shaanxi Civil Aviation System could seize the opportunity and work together for realizing better and faster development and making a greater contribution to the social and economic development of Shaanxi Province.
Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Government have attached great importance to the opening of the two international air routes. The Deputy Governor Jing Junhai attended the ceremony and declared the official opening of the two air routes. In the meeting before the ceremony, the Deputy Governor Mr. Jing said that existing air routes from Shaanxi Province to abroad was too less and this was one of the factors that affected and restricted the development of tourism and the progress of opening up. The support of more international air routes is necessary for the development of export-oriented economy. The Deputy Governor Mr. Jing expressed his support and pleasure for the opening of the two air routes and believed that the routes would significantly reduce the time of flight required from Xi'an to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, solve transit trouble and provide travelers' trip between Shaanxi and Southeast Asia with great convenience. In addition, he wished that the departments concerned may waste no time in promotion of Malaysia and Thailand tourism and trade and promote trade and investment cooperation and development of tourism industry. Finally, Mr. Jing wished that such air routes might be increased constantly and people could benefit from this.
